How do I obtain residency for retirees in Panama?
To formalize Residency as a Retiree or Pensioner, it is imperative to present a notarized Power of Attorney and an Application through an immigration lawyer in Panama, accompanied by three recent photographs and a copy of the passport duly cross-checked before a notary or competent authority. The file must include Criminal Record and Health certificates, as well as the Sworn Declaration of Personal Background form, along with the official certification accrediting the status of a retiree through a life pension of no less than one thousand balboas (B/.1,000.00) per month or its equivalent. If including dependents, an additional solvency of two hundred and fifty balboas (B/.250.00) per month must be demonstrated for each one, justifiable through an increase in the pension or via local bank references.
If the pension comes from a private company, complementary technical documentation is required, consisting of a certification from the entity managing the funds (trust, insurance, or bank), a document confirming the existence and current standing of the granting company, and the corresponding proof of payment or bank statement. Finally, if applicable due to the ownership of assets in the country, a certificate from the Public Registry identifying the real estate property linked to the applicant must be attached.
